About anne.

Trees are not just green.  Anne Knox learned this concept in one of her first art workshops, where her instructor emphasized the importance of painting shapes, values, and colors rather than the object itself.

Anne took this lesson to heart – and straight to her canvases, which evoke a playful sense of shape, value, and color – and grace the walls of homes all over the south.

For Anne, art has many similarities with life.  Specifically, artists use view finders when painting – focusing on the interesting part to paint and blocking out the rest.  “Wouldn’t it be great,” Anne wonders, “if we used these viewfinders in our everyday lives… focusing on the best part, making it better with whatever talents we have, and blocking out the rest?”

Anne’s art can be found on Instagram and in the Mac on Main Art Gallery in downtown Thomson, Georgia. Anne also takes on a select few commissions each year, so reach out to her directly with any inquiries.
